Towing is not “pulling on a cable” #

Professional towing means loading the vehicle, strapping it, then transporting it to the garage, home or the other side of the border. SkyRoute Auto prefers a flatbed or an approved car transporter: no driven wheel turning on the ground when the manufacturer forbids it.

Flatbed, wheel-lift, rope: what is done (or not) #

Flatbed / car transporter: vehicle fully loaded, winch if the wheels no longer turn, straps and chocks. This is the method for crash-damaged vehicles, EVs, 4x4 / AWD, sensitive automatics and long journeys (Annecy, Chamonix, Geneva , Lausanne).

Wheel-lift (two wheels on the ground): quicker in town, but only if the transmission allows it. A 4x4, an EV or a car whose driven wheels are misidentified: we do not improvise.

A rope, a strap between two private cars, a homemade bar: avoid on the public road. Power steering and braking of a dead vehicle, prohibited on the motorway, risk of accident. Rare exception: a few metres on private land, at very low speed, by someone who knows. Otherwise, a professional.

Equipment and sequence on site #

Winch, ramps, straps, chocks: the vehicle is secured so it does not move under braking. In an underground car park, the entrance height decides the equipment — photos and badge when you call. Motorcycle: dedicated strapping, not “wedged between two cars”.

Have the registration document ready, a destination (a named garage, not “the nearest in the network” if you want yours), valuables. The quote precedes loading except in a life-threatening emergency.
