Before the breakdown: read the policy
Compulsory third-party cover generally does not pay for recovery of your own vehicle. Roadside assistance (option or pack) may cover recovery, towing , sometimes a hotel or a replacement car. Check mileage excess, cap, age of the vehicle, exclusions (lack of servicing, alcohol, undeclared business use).
SkyRoute Auto does not interpret your policy for you. We state the amount inc. VAT and the job detail; the insurer decides. See also /conseils/assurance-depannage-prestataire-independant/ and /assurances/.
Documents to keep
Settled invoice: date, time, collection and drop-off locations, distance, services (on site / flatbed), SIRET, VAT, paid endorsement. Photos of the vehicle and access. Any intervention report. Registration document, bank details, case number if you have already called assistance.
Accident: statement, photos. Switzerland: keep all receipts (territory sometimes outside “France only” cover). Notification period: often five working days for a breakdown, shorter for an accident — your policy prevails. Keep originals for at least two years (insurance limitation period, art. L114-1).
Submitting the file and timescales
Customer account, recorded delivery, or email with a read receipt. Once the file is complete, insurers typically aim to process within about a month; chase in writing if there is silence. Refusal: written reasons (mileage excess, exclusion, cap). An internal tariff below a freely chosen invoice is common if you did not go through their recovery platform: that is not a SkyRoute Auto error.
We do not promise cover. We do not “manage” the claim in the insurer’s place. We provide usable documents.
Dispute: complaint, ombudsman
The insurer’s complaints service, then the Insurance Ombudsman (mediation-assurance.org) if the reply is not satisfactory. Consumer associations are possible. Court action is rarely proportionate to a recovery invoice.
A false statement: risk to the policy. Declare the facts as they are. Motorway: attach the SOS / 112 / repatriation sequence to explain two possible interventions.
How to use this guide
SkyRoute Auto is on no insurer’s network and does not bill “direct” to your company. A detailed named invoice often allows reimbursement — if your policy provides for it and the file is in order. This guide complements our service, breakdown and area pages. SkyRoute Auto remains your local Annemasse provider (74 bis Route d’Étrembières, 74100 Annemasse , France), reachable on 06 82 96 40 84.
After reading: make safe, note the exact location, vehicle and destination, then call or request a quote online. On the motorway, the SOS / 112 procedure comes first. Indicative rates and towns covered (within 110 km) are on the site.
Who attends, and from where
SkyRoute Auto is an independent breakdown, towing and transport provider, based at 74 bis Route d’Étrembières, 74100 Annemasse , France. For getting breakdown recovery reimbursed by insurance, the call comes through on a local number (06 82 96 40 84): not a national switchboard promising “20 minutes anywhere in France”. The slot we give depends on traffic, weather, access (surface, underground, snow) and the distance from Annemasse .
We remain outside insurers’ official networks. You can appoint us for getting breakdown recovery reimbursed by insurance, obtain an invoice, then submit the file to your roadside assistance: any reimbursement depends solely on your policy. Keep the case number if one already exists.
On a motorway or expressway, the initial recovery remains the approved circuit (SOS phone or 112, dispatch may be via sos-auto-moto.fr). SkyRoute Auto then handles repatriation or transport to a garage, home or Switzerland — see our motorway procedure . In town, a car park or a residence, you call us directly.
What we need for a useful quote
To handle getting breakdown recovery reimbursed by insurance without a second trip: exact address (street, car park, floor, badge / intercom), make and model, manual or automatic gearbox, whether the vehicle still rolls, the destination you want, photos of the access and of the vehicle. Mention a high-voltage pack (hybrid / electric), a motorcycle, a van or a prestige car: the equipment is not the same.
Hours: 24/7 subject to availability, including weekends and bank holidays. Life-threatening emergency or a blocked carriageway: prefer a phone call. Planned transport: online quote . Base rates inc. VAT (daytime, straightforward access, Genevois): car breakdown recovery 99 € – 139 €, car towing 169 € – 209 € — more distant communes, Switzerland, night work and difficult access are surcharged; see our pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
- Can you invoice my insurer directly?
- No. Invoice in your name; you submit the file. That is the rule for an independent provider.
- What should be on the invoice?
- Identity, SIRET, journey and service detail, times, inc. VAT. We issue it that way for 74 / Switzerland files.
- Broken down 3 km from home — am I covered?
- Often not if there is a 50 km excess. An independent operator still attends; reimbursement is not automatic.
